September 17 was celebrated in different ways by political parties in AP today. While the Congress treated it as the Telangana Liberation Day, the pro-Telangana TRS celebrated the day as Telangana Accession day.
The APCC has celebrated the Telangana Liberation Day in Gandhi Bhavan where PCC chief Mr. Botsa Satyanarayana hoisted the national flag and deputy chief minister Mr Damodar Rajanarasimha, several ministers, congress MLAs and MPs of the Telangana region also participated.
Botsa felicitated several persons who participated in the struggle for Telangana liberation and called upon the people to strive to protect the unity and integrity of the country.
In quite contrast, TRS celebrated the day as the Telangana Accession day at its party headquarters in Hyderabad. Senior leader Nayani Narasimha reddy hoisted the national and TRS flags on the occasion and said the party would intensify the Telangana agitation in the future days.
