SC refuses to grant stay on Emaar probe

SuprimeCourtThe Supreme Court today refused to grant stay on the AP High Court orders for a full fledged CBI investigation into the APICC-Emaar land scam.

A division bench consisting of Justices Dalwir Bhandari and Deepak Varma told the petitioners they the court didn’t find reasons to stay the CBI investigation in to the alleged scam. “We don’t want to interfere with the investigation at this point of time,” said the court.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till next week and ordered issue of notices to the Minister Sankara Rao, CBI and others. It might be mentioned that CBI has launched its full fledged investigation into the APIIC-Emaar land allotment scam and also into the alleged illegal accumulation of properties of YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy on the orders of the High Court.

Jagan already approached the Supreme Court seeking stay of the CBI investigation into his assets and the apex court dismissed the petition. Now, Emaar Properties also approached the apex court seeking stay of the investigation.
