CBI teams, which have collected evidence in the Emaar land scam, have today questioned the IAS officer Mr BP Acharya at a secret location in Hyderabad. Acharya worked as the MD of the APIIC in the past and the Dubai based Emaar Property was allotted hundreds of acres of land during his tenure at the APIIC.
He was responsible for the agreements the Emaar has entered into with other companies with out the knowledge of the state government causing a loss of hundreds of crores of rupees to the state exchequer.
The CBI has also called Mr Varadarajan, the auditor of the Jagathi Publications for interrogation and served notices to CEOs of 12 other companies asking them to attend questioning. Varadarajan was one of the key persons who helped Jagan indulge in money laundering.
Mr Karthik, Secretary of the Jagathi Publications, was last night questioned by the CBI officials at its office in Hyderabad and the questioning went on till midnight.
