Govt staff to join agitation from Sept 6

t-telanganaThe Government employees of the Telangana region will launch their indefinite strike from September 6 instead of August 17 as proposed earlier demanding the formation of Telangana state.

However, the all people’s agitation (Sakala Janula Samme) proposed to be launched from August 17 will commence as scheduled and the T region employees will join it from September 6.

The government employees have agreed to defer their agitation in view of the Sravana Masam festivities and the Ramjan festival.Some Muslim preachers requested the government employees and the JAC to defer the agitation to September first week in view of the Ramjan festival. Earlier reports said the employees rejected the request but now they have reconsidered their decision and agreed to postpone the strike.

Maha Dharna at Indira Park

The Telangana Joint Action Committee will launch the all people’s agitation with a Maha Dharna at Indira Park in Hyderabad on August 17.

Later on, political parties will resort to rallies, dharnas and a programme called ‘March to Villages’ across Telangana to highlight the demand for the formation of Telangana. The JAC will also conduct a massive public meeting in Karimnagar on September 5. Leaders of all political parties fighting for Telangana will be invited to the meeting.
