Hyderabad ignores bandh call

telanganaThe TS JAC-sponsored Telangana Bandh has paralyzed normal public life across Telangana districts except in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

While buses of the APSRTC went off the roads and schools, colleges and universities remained shut down for the day in all districts of Telangana hitting normal public life, Hyderabad people mostly ignored the bandh call. All educational institutions declared a holiday today and petrol bunks and cinema theatres too remained closed in T districts.

RTC maintained its normal services in Hyderabad city and all private offices worked as usual as people ignored the bandh call. In some places, businesspeople closed shops fearing attacks by the T elements.

TRS activists and other pro-Telangana elements damaged buses in two or three places in Hyderabad but in majority places normal bus services were run as usual. However, district services from the Jubilee Bus station and the MG Bus station were withheld as a precautionary measure for fear of attacks by the T elements.

The Telangana Students Joint Action Committee gave the bandh call demanding removal of clause 14(F) from the zonal guidelines guiding the recruitment of SIs. Thousands of police men have been deployed in Hyderabad to keep law and order as a precautionary measure on account of bandh.
