Sonia’s admission kept top secret

polockThe congress party president Sonia Ganhi’s admission into the world famous cancer hospital of the Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center in New York was kept a top secret. The news of her admission was not known even to the Indian embassy in Washington and Indian consulate in New York.

What is surprising even more is that her name finds no mention any where in the patient data system of the hospital. This is surely some sort of record for the 64-year old Indian leader for no one in the US including the members of the most powerful American political dynasties was able to manage this type of admission into the hospital till date.
There is no doubt that these special arrangements were made for Sonia Gandhi just to avoid media leaks.

Diplomatic sources say that Sonia Gandhi’s old friend and presently the executive director at the World Bank in Washington Mr Pulok Chatterji made these super-efficient arrangements for her admission, surgery and treatment in the hospital.

All indications are that Chatterji will soon be returning to India to join the PM’s Office as Principal Secretary.

After the surgery, she was now moved out of the ICU. Reports suggest she may be resting in a large hotel-like suite at the Weill Cornell Medical Center or the Columbia University Medical Center at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

There is a heavy flow of the Indian visitors and members of the Indian Overseas Congress at the hospital to see Sonia and wish her speedy recovery but they were all sent away by the officials of the hospital.

Sources revealed that she might have been admitted as an unlisted VIP patient. Her name may not show up in the hospital data system because she must have made her admission with some other name to keep the media away.
