SA leaders to visit Delhi on July 18

sailajnathCongress leaders of the Seema Andhra area are leading a delegation to Delhi on July 18 and 19 to ask the party high command to keep the state united.

Speaking to media persons in Vijayawada after a meeting of the region’s congress leaders today, Minister Sailajanath said they would quit their legislative posts and intensify the agitation in case the Centre and the party high command decide to divide the state.

“We will put forward the opinions of Seema Andhra people before the high command and request them to keep the state united. If necessary, we will quit our posts and take up an agitation in unison,” he said.

Today’s meeting was attended by 7 ministers, 25 MLAs and several MLCs of the congress party besides students’ JAC leaders and representatives of several people’s organizations for deciding the future course of action to ensue that the state is not divided.

Sailajanath said that he could prove with statistics that Telangana was not underdeveloped. “Even if some areas are underdeveloped, they can be developed with special economic packages,” he said adding that division only is not a solution for all problems.
