Disenchanted over the lack of proper response from the party high command over their mass resignations seeking a decision of the formation of Telangana state, congress leaders of the Telangana region are seriously thinking of launching a separate party in the name of Telangana Congress to achieve the aim of Telangana.

If the reports are true, the state congress is likely to witness a vertical split in the days to come over the issue of Telangana. Once the new party is launched, it can lead the agitation alone or it can even form a Front for the purpose along with others, according to reports appearing the section of a media in the last two days.

Sources also said that the T congress leaders who have quit their posts will wait till August 1 for their resignations to be accepted or for a decision on Telangana from the high command and the centre. They may announce the new party or Front after that. It is true that some of the leaders are reportedly opposing the idea of new party.

The T congress leaders held a marathon meeting on Sunday to discuss the issue and today also they are holing consultations to take a final decision on launching the new party. As the congress leadership has not yet reacted strongly to their resignations, the worried congress leaders think that  it would give room to people to suspect that their resignations were nothing but part of a drama to mislead the pubic.

Most of the T Congress leaders are in favour of launching the new party to remove the possible misconceptions among the people and prove their sincerity towards Telangana. Launching the new party would serve both the purposes of protecting their political future and achieving Telangana state, they strongly feel.
