The final rites to the mortal remains of Telangana ideologue Prof. Jayashankar were performed today at the Siva Mukti Dhamam burial ground at the Padmakshamma Gutta at Warangal as thousands of pro-Telangana activists accompanied the funeral procession and bid a tearful farewell to the man who lived his life providing inspiration to the Telangana people.

 

Jayashankar’s adopted son Mr Brahmam lit the funeral fire amid loud pro-Telangana slogans that rented the air. The darling of the Telangana masses died of throat cancer at his house at Hanumakonda on Tuesday.

 

TRS president KCR, who wept on seeing the body of Jayashankar on Tuesday, wept again today when the funeral fire was lit.
