Social activist Swamy Agnivesh said that democracy was brutally murdered by all political parties in the recent by elections for the Kadapa Lok Sabha and Pulivendula assembly seats.

Addressing the Telangana journalists’ demonstration at Jantar Mantar in Delhi today, Swamy Agnivesh said that all political parties had spent crores of rupees in the by elections for purchasing voters and contributed to the mass murder of democracy.

He said he had lodged a complaint on this with the Chief Election Commissioner. Talking about Telangana, Agnivesh said Home Minister Chidambaram should resign from the Central Cabinet as he had not kept his word on Telangana.

“The report of the Justice Sri Krishna Committee would only contribute to the suppression of the T movement,” he said. “The Centre should immediately declare formation of the Telangana state.”
