ISRO chief seeks Balaji’s blessings for PSLV-18 launch

IsroChairmanISRO Chairman Mr Radha Krishnan, accompanied by two of his top scientists, today paid a visit to Tirumala and had the darshan of the Lord Balaji.

Mr Radha Krishnan said he sought the blessings of the Almighty for the successful launch of the India PSLV rocket that ferries four satellites into space on Wednesday.

The countdown for the launch of the satellites has already begun and is successfully progressing, a top official of the ISRO told journalists.

“The countdown has been smooth and successful and there are no hitches as of now. The fourth stage has been fuelled up. Fuelling of the second stage would be completed by midnight,” said the official who did not want to be named.

The launch of the PSLV-C18, costing Rs.160 Cr, will put into orbit the 1,000-kg Megha Tropiques weather satellite and three other smaller satellites together weighing 42.6 kg. The project is joint programme taken up by India and France.
