T activists capture Lanco Hills, get arrested

lanco2Police have arrested revolutionary singer Vimalakka and 20 of her Telangana United Front supporters Thursday evening for barging into the Lanco Hills Towers at Manikonda in Hyderabad and hoisting a Telangana flag earlier.

Police said the T activists, who trespassed into the Lanco Hills with deadly weapons, had assaulted the company’s security guards, broke the tube lights and had even declared it as ‘Telangana Hills’.

The activists raised slogans demanding the management of Lanco Hills, owned by the Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal family, to hand over the place to the native people of Telangana and leave the premises, according to police.

Police said a mob of 70 people participated in the raid on the 27-storied structure of the Lanco Hills which is still under construction.

Police have registered a case of unlawful assembly, trespass, rioting, causing hurt, mischief to cause damage and criminal intimidation against Ms Vimalakka and others as per a complaint lodged by Mr G. Ramulu, the safety manager of Lanco Hills.
