Vamsi, Nani stand by Hari Krishna

naniIn a dramatic turn of events in Krishna district TDP, Vijayawada urban TDP president Vallabhaneni Vamsi today announced resignation from his party post but later withdrew it because of pressure from party activists.

Speaking at the party workers meeting in Vijayawada, Vamsi said he can’t work under the leadership of Devineni Uma Maheswara rao who he said had insulted Rajyasabha MP and party leader Hari Krishna during his recent trip to the district. He also said he would extend his full cooperation to his successor but the party activists asked him not to resign and closed the doors of the meeting hall from inside. They implored on him not to resign and after lot of persuasion, he had announced he was withdrawing his resignation.

Earlier, Vamsi, toeing the Hari Krishna line, attacked party leadership for not accepting the resignation of Devineni Uma as Krishna district TDP president. “We are not here to tolerate any insult to Hari Krishna and to the Nandamuri family and I will always be with the family members of the late NTR,” Vamsi said.

Meanwhile, Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani is also said to be thinking of quitting assembly protesting against the decision of TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu to continue Devineni Uma as district TDP chief and the insult meted out to Hari Krishna. “No insult to Hari Krishna will be tolerated,” Nani declared.  He however denied the news that he was planning to quit.

Both Nani and Vamsi demanded an apology to Hari Krishna from Denineni Uma who had refused. Uma had earlier resigned as district TDP chief following allegations of insult to Hari Krishna but Chandrababu asked him to continue in that party post. “Without talking to us, without solving the differences, leadership has asked Uma to continue and we can’t accept this,” Uma and Vamsi said earlier.
