Stage set for more turmoil in state from Nov 1

SeemandhraJacThe state of Andhra Pradesh is set to witness more turmoil through a direct confrontation between the pro-Telangana forces and the elements supporting the cause of untied AP from November 1.

Even as the Telangana political JAC said that their agitation and the mass general strike would be intensified further to involve the elected representatives of all political parties of the Telangana region to speed up the process of Telangana formation, JAC leaders of 14 universities in the Seema Andhra area on Thursday gave a deadline to the Centre to declare that there won’t be any division of the state.

The JAC leaders, who met under the leadership of Prof Samuel at the Nagarjuna University at Guntur, threatened to undertake protests, dharnas and hunger strikes opposite the assembly in Hyderabad after Nov 1 if there is no statement disfavoring the formation of Telangana state by then.

The JAC also threatened to stop the Advani Ratha Yatra in the state if the BJP leadership didn’t change its attitude on the issue of Telangana. Meanwhile, the JAC announced that it would take up several protest programmes from Oct 18 to 22 highlighting the need to keep the state united.
