The film fraternity has high regard for this young producer and his name is synonymous for success. He is our 'Dil' Raju, from his first film as a producer 'Dil' to his recent, 'Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu', all have broken records at the box office luring family audience back to theatres. Born as V. Venkataramana Reddy, he was initially a distributor for the Nizam area in which his home district Nizamabad hails.
There is an interesting tale to his entry into films, reveal sources. As an ardent fan of the late N T Rama Rao, Raju would grab the first show tickets of the veteran's films even if he had to stand the whole night before release. On one such occasions he failed to get a ticket for a film which irked the young lad. This incident had an impact on him and eventually he decided to take up film distribution. The sole aim of the youth icon was to have the first glimpse of the films. Interested in his activity, Raju developed a penchant for films.
Over a period of time he gained experience to judge the merits of the film's success at the box office just by a glimpse. And mind you the thought process was so intense and accurate that he seldom failed in his ventures. The greatness of this producer is that he evaluates his failure more than his success. A box office venture is just another to his list, but when his film bombs at the ticket counter which rarely occurs, then he does a retrospection working in reverse mechanism to analyze the reasons of the failure.
Among his successful films the landmarks are Dil, Arya, Bhadra, Bommarillu, Parugu, Kotha Bangaru Lokam, Brindavanam, Happy days, Mr. Perfect and his recent film Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. He started career as a producer in 2003 with his two friends Shirish and Lakshman under the banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. The decade old production unit is already on their next venture, 'Yevadu' another multi starer, with Ram Charan and Allu Arjun in the lead.
From star producer Allu Aravind to noted filmmaker Shekar Kammula, everybody has looked upto 'Dil' Raju to add luck to their gambit and reaped rich dividends in their ventures.
