The hottest topic in the state is about the massive padayatra launched by the Telugu Desam Party Supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Gandhi Jayanti. The walkathon was titled as 'Vastunna Mee Kosam' was to bring awareness of the ongoing corruption in the state ever since the YSR era. But the hidden agenda as per some critics was that the once powerful leader, who had brought repute to the 'Andhrudu' image, globally turned out to be a big zero, due to internal and external pressures.
Well the latest speculation is that once touted as the man of ideas, had sought for ideas from noted film directors, for this walkathon. From the beginning the walk did not get its name and the party sources said that they would announce at the right moment, but internally the rumours rife were that the party chief called on the two top commercially successful directors of Tollywood for suggestions. It seems the meet was organised by a senior person of the Cine actors guild. The duo were Sreenu Vaitla and S S Rajamouli.
Sreenu who is shooting for Jr NTR starer Badshah, refused to give any suggestions to the former Chief Minister, citing himself as a novice. On the other hand, the reincarnation story teller S S Rajamouli gave some wonderful tips to the leader and even named the title for the venture. And of course you know that how far the director had succeeded in revamping the image of the party.
It had become synonymous in the TDP that the former Chief Minister lost his 'Midas touch' and was looking for something beyond his capacities. The think tank of the party headed by the supremo himself decided on the next strategy to revamp the party. Subsequently the walkathon was embarked and the leader is almost covering 20+ Kms per day. In the first phase he started out from Anantapur District and on his 16th day, he has crossed that district and is mid way through the adjacent Kurnool, District.
Though he started out with meek response the walkathon gained momentum with good participation. However the last two days have been camouflaged by the walkathon to be embarked by the late YSR's daughter Sharmila. This lady seems to hog all the lime light as she starts her massive walk from October 18, the day Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu is released, globally. (With inputs from internet-AW AarKay)
