The word Sri Krishnadevaraya speaks volumes of the abundance and prosperity that prevailed during the reign of the great leader. This day in that age was the day that marked the commencement of the `Rayala Era'. Emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya ruled Vijayanagara Empire from July 26, 1509-1529. he was the third king of the Tuluva Dynasty and his reign had seen the union of a part of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The golden era of Sri Krishnadevaraya was much attributed to the able administration of his Prime Minister Timmarusu. As per Wiki, Emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya earned the titles Andhra Bhoja (ఆంధ్రభోజ), Mooru Rayara Ganda (ಮೂರುರಾಯರಗಂಡ: meaning King of three kings) and Kannada Rajya Rama Ramana (ಕನ್ನಡರಾಜ್ಯರಮಾರಮಣ). This goes on to prove the emperor's proudly belongs to two states. And there are times till date when people really earn to get such a charismatic era back in the modern times.

Emperor  Sri Krishnadevaraya was not only an able administrator and a great warrior but he was also a scholar, a poet, a musician and a kind king. He was loved very much by his subjects and he even treated his enemies with honor. He won all the wars he had waged during his rule. Many Telugu, Sanskrit, Kannada and Tamil poets enjoyed the patronage of the emperor.  Emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya contribution to literature and arts was immense in the Southern parts of the country and to his credit he has been a patron of many remarkable literary concerts. On this day we remember the great emperor not because of his power but for his compassion and consideration.

Attributing   Emperor  Sri Krishnadevaraya to a particular caste, community or region is truly incorrect. Because he respected all religions and castes and had ruled a vast stretch of India. Emperor  Sri Krishnadevaraya rule saw all round prosperity of South India, culturally and materialistically. However being an Indian on the broad spectrum makes one feel proud. The pride is due to the fact that there are many stalwarts who with their nuances have imbibed an indelible inscriptions on the history fortresses. Time immemorial these people shall live-on, but we seldom remember such doyens in our hectic concrete work schedules.
