Aamir's Satyamev Jayate anthem lifted from Phir Dhoom?

The much awaited television reality series—Satyamev Jayate has received thumbs up from viewers except for one man who claims the title long Satyamev Jayate was lifted from the singer's album. Want to know who that person is? Well, the one who made all hum Dhum Pichchak Dhum years back.  Yes, you got it right! It's doctor-turned-pop singer Palash Sen who came up with interesting claim.

Palash Sen--who said that the anthem of Satyamev Jayate was lifted from their band Euphoria’s second album Phir Dhoom—has sent legal notice to Star Channel. Palash Sen said: “The trailers and the anthem of this show have been running on television for quite a while, but I had not seen the videos. When I heard it, I was shocked. In 2000, Euphoria released its second album Phir Dhoom, and one of its songs was named Satyameva Jayate. And the chorus of composer Ram Sampath's version of Satyamev Jayate is exactly the same as the chants in our song. They've basically used the same refrain. The mainstay of the song - the chorus - is ours, which is why I've sent a legal notice to them.”

Palash Sen has also said that Satyamev Jayate number was from the same album, which contained the song Maaeri but the former song was not popular since the band didn’t make a video for it. He has also recalled several fans calling him up for reminding the lifting of the song.

The composer of Aamir Khan's Satyamev Jayate, Ram Sampath has refused to comment on the allegations. (Phani)
