Bajaj RE 60 ready to set the Indian roads on fire, 40Kmpl, will it share space with Nano

On the eve of the biggest auto show in New Delhi, AutoExpo 2012 manufacturers are gearing up to put their best at the expo to be show cased well in the segment. The country’s 2, 3 and 4 wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto, launched its small size four wheeler Bajaj RE60. While critics call it a car that can share space with Nano, subject to price competency. The company says it is just a four wheeler. They would like to cater mainly for the auto rickshaw drivers for sales. The company claims that the car would have a mileage of close to 40 km per litre and will have a 200 cc engine. 

At a news conference in New Delhi Mr. Bajaj told reporters that while he would be happy to sell the RE60 to consumers, his main target market was rickshaw drivers, who earn about $100 a month driving people short distances. The RE60 is the result of several years of work by the company, which has an agreement to make a small car for the Renault-Nissan Alliance. Mr. Bajaj told reporters that those companies would get to see the RE60 this week at the AutoExpo and had the right to “walk away” if they did not like it.

So incase if you are planning to buy a four wheeler, wait for the Bajaj RE60, have a look and decide!!
