Political unity, invisible in India, emerges possible in Kamala Nehru Hospital

Inaugurating the extension works at the Kamla Nehru hospital, Pune the BJP national president Nitin Gadkari, said the hospital perfect example of united effort by leaders. He specified that having ideological differences does not amount to factionalism; this hospital is a perfect example of united effort by local leaders of all political parties. The inability to provide selfless social service to the people has been our biggest failure, which we should now make up for.

In an official hospital communiqué released on Wednesday stated that Leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress, including MPs, MLAs and MLCs, are invited for the event. Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Manikrao Thakare, state health minister Suresh Shetty and BJP state general secretary Vinod Tawade would be present.

Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) standing committee chairman, Ganesh Bidkar, told reporters that the new wing is equipped with latest facilities of medical treatment as compared to any private hospital, and citizens could avail of it at very low cost. The total capacity of the hospital is now increased to 450 beds. It has modular operation theatres installed at Rs6.5 Cr each, a 10-bed intensive care unit and a neonatal ICU. A centralised laboratory with facilities for 650 types of tests is developed in the hospital. It would be useful for conducting tests of samples from all health centres of PMC. The facilities in the hospital include digital X-ray machine, closed-circuit television cameras, centralised system to provide hot water with solar system, provision of oxygen and compressed air in all wards with centralised system and two power generators of 250 kVA capacity each.
