On Sunday, former state Health Minister B Sriramulu resigned from his state Assembly membership.

Sriramulu avenges his non inclusion in to the Gowda’s ministry, by resigning. In a much expected move Sriramulu a close associate of the mining barons Gali brothers has resigned at Bangalore.

He just said that, I am resigning from the assembly as my image has been damaged following the Lokayukta report. It seems to be a calculated move by the former minister who was named in the illegal mining scam, along with the Reddy brothers.

He hails from the Bellary rural constituency, which is rich in iron ore, just a 300 Km drive from Bangalore. The Reddy brothers, G. Janardhana and G. Karunakara have a strong presence in these areas and have a stronger influence on Sriramulu, who is known as their loyalist.

The Reddy brothers have also not been included in the Gowda ministry which took office on Aug 4, four days after scam-hit Yeddyurappa quit on July 31.

Speculation are doing the rounds that he along with his associates may launch a party on the lines of Jagan Mohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh, the son of the former Chief Minister Late Shri Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. He has yet to quit the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
