Uber Operations suspended in Delhi

The Delhi government has banned the operations of private cab service Uber in the wake of rape of 25 year old working women. And more shockingly the company has been black listed by the transport department.

Shiv Kumar Yadav, the Uber cab driver raped a woman on Friday night. He also threatened to kill her if informed the police. The woman registered a complaint and on Sunday, the driver was taken into custody by the police. The police have revealed that the driver is already convicted in a 2011 rape case and the company did not get a clearance certificate.

Meanwhile Uber has shut its office in Gurgaon in the wake of the incident. Though the company CEO and officials are issuing statements and cooperation the police in this case, the Delhi Transport department has black listed Uber from providing any transport service in the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi in future.
