Animal-rights activist and sitting BJP MP from Uttar Pradesh has filed her nomination for Pilibhit constituency which is represented by her son Varun Gandhi presently. In the affidavit submitted to the returning officer, Maneka declared her assets are worth Rupees 40 crore.
The 57 year old Maneka showed movable assets of Rs. 12.46 crore and immovable assets of Rs. 24.95 crore. She has gold and silver jewellery of about Rs. 1.47 crore, a licensed rifle worth about Rs. 40,000, commercial property worth Rs. 6.95 crore and a residential property valued at Rs. 18 crore.
Maneka is booked in three cases under the Indian Penal Code [IPC]. Pilibhit will go for polling on Thursday.
