Three time Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has been appointed as the Governor of Kerala State on late hours of Tuesday. The 75-year-old Sheila succeeds Nikhil Kumar, a former Delhi Police Commissioner, who resigned yesterday.
Sheila Dikshit suffered a shameful defeat in the Delhi elections in 2013 and has been waiting for a suitable post from the Congress high command. Earlier it was reported that Sheila might come as Governor for Andhra Pradesh but it wasn't true.
Meanwhile the Aam Aadmi Party has accused the Center of protecting Sheila by appointing her Kerala Governor. AAP leader Manish Sisodia said, “investigations are on and now that Sheila Dikshit is governor, she will get immunity. So this is nothing but protecting her.”
