Death toll in Mumbai Building Collapse-25

The five storey building collapsed under the debris of which about 50 people were caught in unawares as it happened in the early morning hours on Friday when everyone was sleeping.  

The building was 30 years old and belongs to Bruhan Mumbai Municipal Corporation.  Ironically the families of the staff belong to C2 that is meant for attending immediate needs of the repairs in the municipal limits.  About 21 families were living in the building.

 Rescue teams saved 6 persons in total so far out of whom one is a boy of 10 years.  So far 25 persons were noticed as dead and 26 are wounded and getting treatment in the hospital.  It is feared that some more dead bodies may come out after the debris are removed further.  

The Chief Minister Prithviraj Chauhan is conducting emergency meeting on the issue to review the situation and arrange rehabilitation to the victims of the incident.
