Absolute disgustingly, three persons were arrested on May 20th night for they were declared to have been involved in cricket betting rackets while the IPL-6 final between the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians was in progress at the Eden Garden.
Furthering with the incident, city police sources informed that the arrests were made during a joint operation by the Special Task Force and Detective Department of the Kolkata Police. They have also added that while Pawan Agarwal was arrested from a flat at Baguiati area near the city, Aditya Damani and Raj Sharma were arrested from Burrabazar area and that Damani and Sharma were together arrested for one racket, while Agarwal was associated with another.
As a prominent fact, the police grabbed one laptop along with four mobile phones from Agarwal and three laptops, six cellphones and Rs 77,000 in cash from Damani and Sharma.
The arrests following the cricket betting racket didn’t end up here as it furthered with another arrest in Ultadanga area of the city four days ago when 10 persons including bookie, also a film producer in Tollywood was arrested with the same allegation.
Today, cricketing has been dominated by corruption and violence and due to that fact it's deteriorating in it's classical flavour!
