Justice for the dead: Savita Halappanavar's father moves to the court

After the death of his daughter Savita Halappanavar in a case where she was denied abortion, a grieving father, Andanappa Yalagi is now going to take legal actions against the Irish hospital where the incident took place."I believe we will never get justice from the Irish government so we are definitely going to take legal action against the hospital (University Hospital Galway)," He told the 'Irish Daily Star' from his home in Belgaum, Karnataka.

Mr. Yalagi is not happy regarding the investigation outcomes. "No one has yet told us the real reason for my daughter's death. I am not satisfied by the inquest because the truth about what led to my daughter's death still has not come out. What I think is that the government and the doctors need to take responsibility for what happened to Savita but so far no one is doing that. No one from the hospital or the government not the doctors, not the politicians have spoken of the negligence that killed my daughter," he added.

The incident where Halappanavar lost her life has caused massive protest from the human and woman's right activists as they demanded the people associated with this fatal negligence to be punished and emergency abortion should be legalized. They opined that if the law would have permitted to perform abortion, the deceased could have been saved. Ireland being a catholic country doesn't permit abortion.
