Delhi Gang Rape: The girls name may be revealed

Union Western Minister made a debatable statement asking the government to name the anti-rape law in the name of Nirbhaya but with intentions of honoring the gruesome death of the girl in Singapore. The grieving parents of the girl also welcomed the idea of the union minister, saying that it would be an honor that her struggle for life is a lesson for the country to learn.

Earlier, Tharoor tweeted from his account that a revised anti-rape law should be made in her name honoring her.

Reacting to the statement, the father of the 23-year old rape victim said, "We will have no objection if a stringent rape law is named after our daughter. Her death has done irreparable damage to our family, but her struggle can now be a lesson for the entire country”.

A human resource development minister for the state mentioned that the issue is yet to be brought forward for discussion at a suitable stage.

Mayawati, the UP chief minister has convened an all party meeting to discuss on the situation accepting the suggestion of Shashi Tharoor.

Currently the father has not authorized anyone to take her name yet. He also said, "If the government wants to set up a medical college or medical institute in her memory, we will welcome it. As a medical student, she was keen on serving society. Such a gesture would honour her memory”.

Legal experts, after the news of the name being public went viral on social networks, on Wednesday added that according to IPC Section 228 A, the identity can be disclosed on the permission of the parents of the deceased.
