Govt officers cannot sleep at office anymore!

Mamata Banarjee and her government has decided to install hidden cameras in the government offices to monitor the timings of the employees at the offices. Govt employees are notorious for their lack of punctuality and taking advantage of the lenience the government gives them but this will put an end to all of their antics at the office. This means no more sleeping at offices.

The first trials are being executed in the West Bengal Essential Supplies Corporation this New Year while the Food Minister Jyotipriya would monitor the attendance. CCTV cams are already in place and the operations are expected to begin Feb 1.
You would be caught if you sign it at a time earlier than your entry. Leaving a decoy bag or glasses to pretend you are just around though you leave for the day early and other such trick won't work anymore. The surprise checks  and other foolproof ways that were in place earlier were not truly foolproof as people found ways to circumvent the rules.

Finger-print readers are also being brought into place to ensure genuine log in and log off times. Biometric attendance systems will make the systems more functional and help towards better governance. It is a shame that such measures have to be brought into place.
