Bail for Zee Editors arrested for Jindal extortion case

Two Zee Editors who were earlier arrested in extortion of the Congress MP and the owner of Jindal Power and Steel LTD, were granted bail by the Delhi High Court.

They were asked by the additional Sessions Judge Raj Rani Mitra to furnish two personlal bonds each worth Rs 50,000 and also a surety amounting to the same before their were granted their bail today, Monday.


Earlier, Sudhir Chaudhary the head of Zee News and Samir Ahluwalia,head of Zee Business, were arrested after they had extorted Naveen Jindal for Rs 100 crore, black mailing him that they would malign him if he failed to do so. The police immediately arrested the duo after Naveen Jindal filed a complaint while producing evidence.  They were arrested under the IPC Sections 384 (extortion), 120(b)(criminal conspiracy) and 511 (attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment).
