TN police arrests 3 for beating teenage girls

Tamil Nadu police arrested three persons for their alleged role in thrashing three teenage girls on the grounds of suspicion that they looted Rs. 1000 from a textile stores in Salem. The incident, which happened on Tuesday in Chennai, questioned the safety of women yet another time. The moment, police came to know that three girls were tied to lamp post and belted up, they reached the place and rescued the girl. However, the responsible persons fled from the scene reportedly after they saw the police. The police, which investigated the case, has finally arrested three persons including two women and the textile shop owner. They were booked under IPC section 341 and were produced before the local court, which remanded them to judicial custody for 15 days.

It may be recalled that this textile owner in Salem yesterday caught hold of three girls and with the help of the arrested two women and few others, he tied them to the lamp post following which he allegedly beat them up. He alleged that these three teenagers flicked Rs. 1000 from his cash box a few days back. This barbaric act of beating women in public has created uproar across the country.
