For Shiv Sena, the road to make the memorial of their late leader Bal Thackeray at his cremation site located in Shivaji Park got even more complicated as Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation rejected their demand and asked them to break the temporary structure built on the site.

Adding more BMC says that the permission for using the ground was given only for the purpose of cremation and now when that thing is over, it should be restored to its original status as it is a reserved plot as per the city development plan.

"The purpose for which the site was allotted (for Thackeray's cremation) is over. Therefore, we have asked both Prabhu and Raut to remove the structure immediately or face legal consequences," Municipal Commissioner Sitaram Kunte told PTI.

It is worth mentioning that Shiv Sena has shown a tough stand so far as they earlier said that they will not even obey high court’s directive if it is not in their favor.
