Commandos surrounded a plane an the Thiruvananthapuram airport after a pilot sent out an emergency hijack alert to the officials today morning.
However, this was only high drama as the alert was sent to the officials after the passengers tried to force their way into the cockpit.
Air India flight that was Kochi bound traveling from Abu Dhabi was inadvertently landed at Thiruvananthapuram due to excessive fog.
The protesting passengers who knew nothing of the diversion had created ruckus in the place demanding to be flown back immediately to Kochi. They even denied to be taken to Kochi by bus. The pilot then had to send the emergency message after the ruckus.
It is expected that the people who tried to force their way into the cockpit would be arrested,.
