Five Pakistani militants killed by US drone

A US drone has succeeded after it had targeted a militant compound which was the hideout of a Pakistani resistive militant group. Five of the insurgents at the siter were killed in the tribal region of Pakistan close to the Afghan Border on Wednesday, security officials said.

Since the last anti-drone rally that was held on a large scale in this anarchic region of Pakistan, which has been under the control of the Taliban and the Al Qaeda militancies, this was the first one.

"Several US drones flew into the area before dawn and fired four missiles on a compound, killing five militants," a security official told after the attack in Hurmuz area, east of Miranshah, the capital of North Waziristan tribal region. The causalties and the attack were both confirmed by another security official in Peshawar. However the identities of those who were dead in the attacks was not known yet.

The unmanned attacks from the US droid still remain debated as they have been disfavored in Pakistan. Several protests also voiced that these attacks would violate the sovereignty alongside deleloping anti-US feelings. The US however feel that these operations were of utmost importance and cannot be given up.
