Protesters hurl slippers and chairs at Nitish

After Nitish Kumar had finished addressing the rally at Nawada in Bihar, he had yet again faced a bitter experience when the angry protesters had hurled slippers and plastic chair at the Chief Minister of Bihar.

The police confirmed that none was hurt in the mishap at the rally.

Nitish has been attending several public meetings as a part of his Adhikar yatra while seeking support for the Special Status for Bihar that he has demanded. If given the special tag, Bihar would be eligible to get more financial assistance and hence more development.

It has been purported that the protests were all started by the opposition party, RJD under the leadership of Lalu Prasad Yadav. Most of the protesters were contractual government school teachers who were seeking a raise in the pay.

In Gaya, where the Chief Minister is scheduled address another meeting today, one person was injured as the police resorted to lathicharge to keep party workers under control. Last evening three people died last evening and seven people were injured after the cavalcade protecting Nitish had hit a autorickshaw. His car had already left the scene by the time of accident.
