Sonia Gandhi meets party leaders on Cabinet reshuffle issue

On Monday, the president of Congress, Sonia Gandhi had a few talks with the union ministers and also the senior leaders of parties. With recent developments in the nation it could be assumed that Sonia could have talked to other on the issue of a Cabinet reshuffle.

All the ministers and leaders had arrived at Sonia's official residence. Prithiviraj Chavan, the chief minister of Maharashtra has also held some talks with Sonia amid the speculations that the cabinet might have something in store for him.

Narayan Rane and some others are also in the same lines. AICC incharge for Maharashtra Mohan Prakash also met Gandhi. With Vilasrao Deshmukh's sad demise and Prithviraj Chavan coming into power as the chief minister for the state, there have been two vacancies earlier represented by Maharashtra.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, the health minister, Motilal Vora and Ahmed Patel were also greeted by Sonia. There is no confirmation yet on the speculation that Azad could be listed for party work.

Reshuffle could be a major issue considering the Prime Minister's attitude towards the reforms; after Manmohan Singh said that there were many reforms to be made.

A reshuffle of the AICC secretariat is also on the cards and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi is expected to get a larger responsibility in the organization.

Sonia Gandhi, would also preside a meeting of the Congress Working Committee, (CWC), on Tuesday morning which would discuss the further course of action after the exit made by the Trinamool Congress officially.
