Kejriwal threatens state to drop sedition charges

Arvind Kejriwal had severely reacted against the cartoonist Aseem Trivedi's arrest earlier and has now threatened the government to start an agitation if the sedition charges against him are not dropped.

He has praised the cartoonist who had been under the government's needle for his satirical comics against the national emblem and the parliament  saying that it was very brave of him to fight against corruption in a unique way for over an year. "I appreciate his courage. He has been fighting corruption for a year. He has fought for Lokpal", he said after his meeting with Trivedi at the Arthur Road jail.

Kejriwal said that Trivedi's cartoons were not making a mockery of the national emblem but it was those who looted crores of rupees in scams that disrespect the national emblem.

"MPs who disrespect the national emblem... official papers have national emblems printed on them... they commit corruption and should be booked for sedition”, he said.
