Death threat to Prince Harry from Taliban

Taliban had vowed to either kill or arrest Prince Harry, third in line for the throne of Britian, who had recently been deployed in a fresh batch to Afghanistan as an Apache attack helicopter pilot. He had early cut his tour short after he received similar threats.

The Taliban had described him as a high-value target that they would not lose and try their best to either arrest him or kill him.

As an Army Captain, Harry was deployed in southern province of Helmand, which is known to be the bloodiest war zones in the 10-year-old conflict.

Zabiullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for Taliban said that anyone who takes the side of USA is their enemy and that they would be attacked.

The London-based TV channel quoted Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid as saying: "Whoever is fighting in our country alongside the US is our enemy and we will attack him."

He added, “ Because he is an Apache helicopter pilot, he will target us more. If we are not able to arrest him we will target him”.

Only two days ago did they dismiss the notice as a publicity stunt to divert the attention of the world from his naked stints in Las Vegas, USA

Sources said that he would not be deployed to take out Taliban for another week at least. Earlier in 2008 he had been called back mid-schedule from Afghanistan after a blackout had been announced after his deployment.
