Three held with a revolver in Hadapsar

The Wanowrie police had successfully prevented an attempted dacoity in Hadaspar at a shop and also arrested three suspects. They had also seized a country made revolved along with three cartridges. They also took possession of the sharp weapons and a car from the three dacaoits. However, two of the accomplices in the burglary had managed to flee from the location.

The suspects are Amjad Afjal Hussain Shaikh (29) of Syednagar, Hadapsar, Irfan Salim Shaikh (28) of Gulamalinagar, Hadapsar and Wali Salim Khan (32) of Ghorpadi.

Senior Police inspector at the Wanowrie Police Station, Bajirao Mohite had led a team of men and had arrested the gang, He said that they carried out the operation after they had received information that a group of dacoits were planning to attack in the Hadaspar area and had maintained strict vigil at the Kalepadal in Hadaspar after laying a trap.

All three arrested were booked under Section 399 (planning for dacoity) of the Indian Penal Code. A search operation has also been started to find the absconding suspects. Investigations were also on to find the source of the firearm. Assistant police inspector of the Wanowrie police station Prasad Sanas is investigating further details of the case.
