Team Anna will will no longer talk to the government on Lokpal issue

Team Anna had dissolved itself on monday after ending the fast recently which follows their decision to form a political party. It had also decided not to talk to the government regarding the issue of the Lokpal bill.

Only 3 days after the dissolution of the indefinite fast at Jantar Mantar, Team Anna had announced the disbanding of the team. They have decided to give a political alternative to the people in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections.

Anna Hazare made the announcement in his blog but had not specified if the party that had been discussed would be formed immediately. However, he had mentioned about the procedures that would be required to be followed in establishing a political alternative.

"The government is not ready to enact Jan Lokpal Bill. How long and how many times we will go on fast? Now people have asked us to leave fast and give an alternative. I also thought that the government is not going to curb corruption”, he said in his blog. He also said that the team would stop its activities henceforth and there would no Team Anna or Team Anna Core Committee.

He expressed vexation with the government turning a Nelson's eye to the repeated fasts and requests for a strong Jan Lokpal Bill.

Core committee members like Justice Santosh Hegde, Medha Patkar, Chandramohan and Akhil Gogoi have all been deeply saddened by the decision to establish a political party.

"I have given an alternative of sending good people to Parliament. But I am not going to be part of any party nor I will contest elections. After getting Jan Lokpal, I will go back to Maharashtra and indulge in my activities”, he mentioned.

He said that he asked the members who form the party to continue the revolution and keep demanding a Jan Lokpal Bill.
