 Guwahati molestation case: TV reporter busted

In a major breakthrough, a TV reporter was arrested for his alleged role in the Guwahati molestation case. He was the same person, who recorded the episode and had telecast it. One Gaurav Jyoti Neog, who was working with NewsLive TV allegedly  aired the molestation episode, which took place outside a bar in Gawahati wherein 20 persons molested a teenage girl for about 30 minutes.

The journalist was booked booked under 11 counts for intention to insult the modesty of a women besides disturbing public tranquility and indulging in obscene act. Before his arrest, the police reportedly questioned him for several hours.

Earlier, social activist and team Anna member Akhil Gogoi  said that this reporter was the main culprit for having shot the incident and airing it on the channel.  He has also alleged that one of the accused in the dirty episode, Amarjyoti Kalita was the friend of the reporter and apparently they deliberately did this thing. Further, he said he has a CD to prove the reporter's guilt, which would be handed over to police and the media.

The CD, which was handed over to the police was observed. And police said there were enough evidences to prove the involvement of the TV reporter in this ugly episode. Meanwhile, the main accused Amarjyoti Kalita is still absconding. The police have launched a man hunt for him.
