Sikkim seperated from the country following landlides

Sikkim was physically seperated from the country after the landslides affected the state on NH 31A at Tenth Mile Tarkhole in West Bengal.

These landslides occurred on Monday, late at night around 11 pm near the Rangpo and Sikkim border and Melli in West Bengal, officials reported on Tuesday.

Border Road Organisation is already working on the area to clear the debris. It has confirmed that the highway would be open one way by evening. The traffic from and to the landlocked mountain is being diverted to detour route via Monsong in Kalimpong, Darjeeling which is a difficult route.

Heavy Rains in West Bengal and Sikkim have caused the massive landslides leading to the difficulties.
