Dowry case: Dentist forces wife to drink his urine

Offences against women are continuing to hit headlines. In yet another ghory incident, a man forced his wife to drink his urine and this didn't take place in any remote place but supposedly the IT capital of India—Bengaluru. And the person was no uneducated man, but the doctor. Dentist who suspected his wife's loyalty has made her drink his urine. This incident came to light when the 27-year-old woman filed a case against her husband and in laws.

The victim got married to Akash Raj, who was a dentist by profession, in 2005. The victim said in her report that her father, who was a businessman, has given one kilogram gold and five kilograms silver as dowry. The greedy husband, however, were reportedly not happy with the dowry and forced victim to bring another Rs. 25 lakh and upon refusing, she was reportedly subjected to harassment—both physical and mental.

Victim has also mentioned that her husband suspected her of running a brothel before her wedding and allegedly ordered her not to speak to men. In her complaint, she has also stated that he asked her whether she slept with the electrician when the electrician visited the home one day on some repair work. He even allegedly suspected illicit affair between the victim and her neighbour.

She has alleged that when she was suffering from menstrual pain, Akash not only forced her to work between the sheet but also made her drink his urine and all this because of dowry.

The government should obey the demands of the people and eminent scholars asking it (govt) to bring stringent law against domestic violence.
