In the wake of UPA's presidential candidate, Pranab Mukherjee's statements that he was willing to talk to UPA ally Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool Congress party representatives told the media that Pranab would have telephoned Mamata Banerjee and confirmed it on the phone itself that he wanted to didi.  The party officials have also said that this (proposal to meet) requires no mediator.

It may be noted that Pranab Mukherjee wanted Trinamool Congress to support him but the party chose to support APJ Abdul Kalam but unfortunately Kalam withdrew from the race. So, UPA had no candidate. Earlier, the party gave a whip directing its members not to vote for Pranab Mukherjee. Will didi change her opinion and support Pranab? This is surely a million dollar question.
