Colonel Anil Kumar Singh remanded to CBI custody

On Tuesday, CBI Special court ordered the remand, of National Defence Academy NDA's physical training officer and the Recruitment Board's presiding officer Colonel Anil Kumar Singh, to the custody of CBI till July 7th.

AK Singh was accused and arrested for the cash-for-jobs scam at NDA on Monday following the rejection of his plea for an anticipatory bail.

“On Monday night, Singh complained of high blood pressure and he was admitted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial hospital” said the CBI officials told the court. The officials were allowed to interrogate Singh for 2 hours only on Tuesday. Singh asked for army custody as the CBI lacked any medical facilities to treat his health issues.

Vivek Saxena, special public prosecutor of CBI said “Singh allegedly took the typing tests for 3 or 4 canditates from his office and the CBI has to understand what was the reason for the candidates to be examined in his office instead of the examination hall. We also need to know who sent the candidates to him. Singh has to answer overwriting the answers in the sheet. We plan on recovering the amount, Rs 2 lakh, which were paid by Colonel Kulbir Singh, who is also a suspect in the case”.

Special Judge D R Mahakan ordered that Singh has to be remanded to CBI custody till July 7th.
