Modi can never be Atal Bihar Vajpayee: Brajesh Mishra

Did former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee wanted Modi to be sacked after 2002 Gujarat riots?  Atal Bijari Vajpayee's close aide and former National Security Advisor has said yes. He backed the sensational statement made by Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar. Brajesh Mishra told one of the newschannels that Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi can never become the prime minister of India. He even said Modi can never become another Atal Bihari Vajpayee in BJP. In fact, he said Atal Bihari Vajpayee, an able politician, can never be compared to anyone.

Brajesh, nonetheless, said Modi can become the prime minister only when BJP comes to power with absolute majority.  It is known that when Gujarat riots took place in 2002, the then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee wanted to sack Narendra Modi since the latter didn't follow rajneethi (fair politics). Nitish has also said that it was because of Narendra Modi's mishandling of Gujarat riots, NDA lost its power in 2004.
