Court extends judicial remand for Gali

Karnataka Court has extended the judicial remand of former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy to July 2 in connection with irregularities in Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC). The court has, however, turned down the petition filed by the CBI urging the court for handing over Gali Janardhan Reddy to its custody for carrying out investigation.

It is known that Andhra Pradesh High Court on June 13 set aside the conditional bail granted to Gali Janardhan Reddy by CBI Special Court in connection with the same case. The court, however, asked Gali to approach a subordinate court for bail. When the court cancelled this bail, Gali Janardhan Reddy was in a prison in Bangalore under judicial custody in connection with another mining case. He is also an accused in irregularities involving Associated Mining Company (AMC) and Deccan Mining Syndicate.
