Helicopter crashes killing Kenyan Minister and five others

An helicopter crash claimed the lives of six persons as per reports reached, on Sunday morning in the Kenyan capital Nairobi. Sources say that six bodies were charred to death beyond recognition. Among the victims were Kenyan Internal Security Minister George Saitoti, a junior minister and four others after a police helicopter crashed near Nairobi.

The Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka deeply touched by the event said "It is unfortunate that we have lost honorable Prof Saitoti, assistant minister Orwa Ojode," to journalists. Joshua Orwa Ojode was assistant minister for internal security. Infact Saitoti is the candidate to succeed President Mwai Kibaki. Saitoti is the country's longest-serving vice-president.

As per reports the Eurocopter craft took off from Nairobi's Wilson airport and crashed around 8:30 am (0530 GMT) on Sunday in the Ngong hills near Nairobi. The copter was totally disfigured said reports. (with inputs from internet-Aarkay)
