Monsoon likely to hit in 48 hrs

Indian Meteorological Department has said that the delayed south-west monsoon will hit Kerala coast in another 48 hours. It may be noted that the monsoon was supposed to hit Kerala five days ago itself but was delayed. The IMD director Sunitha Devi has said that monsoon was likely to set in over southern parts of Kerala in next 48 hours.

She has also said that the mercury is likely to be dipped in another 24 hours in northern states of the country. Further, the meteorological department has also said that the south-west monsoon has been swirling in Arabian sea for more than a week. Now that the condition is favourable, monsoon is likely to hit Kerala coast in another couple of hours.

Meanwhile, the meteorological department has also said that Andhra Pradesh and its neighboring states are likely to witness rainfall in next 24 hours.        (Phani)
