Yeddy precipitates matters in BJP, K’taka Govt moving towards crisis

Karnataka BJP Government seems to be heading towards a major crisis today after former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa served an ultimatum on the party high command to reinstate him as the CM by Feb 27.

Party president Nitin Gadkari ruled out his reinstatement and has been trying to placate Yeddyurappa on the issue asking him not to precipitate matters and put the image of the party at risk.

Gadkari met Yeddyurappa and chief minister Sadananda Gouda separately this morning in Bangalore and tried to bring about a truce but the out come was negative, according to reports.

It was Yeddyurappa who suggested the name of Sadananda Gouda six months ago to replace him after being forced to step down as CM in the wake of his indictment by the Lok Ayukta.
But in due course, differences developed between the two and Yeddyurappa now wants Mr Gouda to make way for him.
Adding to the problems of Gouda at this juncture, earlier foes of Yeddyurappa like Jagadish Shettar and others have now turned friendly towards the tainted chief minister. (JUBS)
